Class Rule

There is only one: Be Respectful!  Be respectful of our Savior and all people, places, time and things.  If you choose to be disrespectful, you choose consequences like talking with me, calling home, push-ups, detentions, restitution, a visit to the office or other appropriate options.  Let’s honor God and skip consequences by being respectful.

Class Verse

We will memorize Colossians 1:16-17 this year.  You will write the verse on every test and every quiz that we take.  What easy points after we have learned it!

Questions?

Do you have questions? PLEASE ask me! I will answer as many questions as I can during class.  If you have other questions, I will be available before and after school.  There are no dumb questions – if you don’t ask, you won’t learn all that you are able.  So … ask away!

Late to Class or Unprepared – Never!

Since God asks us to be good stewards, we don’t want to waste a minute of His time.  Please be on time and come prepared for class so that we can get started right away!  Everyday bring your book, notebook, writing utensils and calculator with you.  When you come in pick up your problem of the day from the table by the door and get started.  I will get going too!

Homework

Please do it! Homework can be frustrating and time consuming.  But if we don’t practice, we don’t learn the concepts.  I do not accept late work.  If you have a real emergency, please talk to me privately and I will make special arrangements with you.  Check the bulletin board with assignment information if you miss class, and turn in your work without delay.

Note Taking

We will use the Cornell method of taking notes.  I will teach you how to take good notes and use them to learn the material.  The attached page shows how to set up your paper and briefly explains how to use it.  At first taking notes may seem hard, but it will get easier.  Hang in there as we learn!

Grades

Ms. Au does not give grades, you earn them!

Homework                               5-20 points

Quizzes                                    50 points

Tests                                        150-200 points

These are normal numbers.  They are subject to change based on length or difficulty of the assignment.

I’m so glad you will be a part of our class.  If there is anything I can do to make this a good year for you, please let me know!
