Dear Parents,
So many times parents will ask what they can do to help in the education process. It really is easy. Please ask to see your child's work now and then. In particular, for my courses, ask to see their class notes and make sure they are keeping up on them. That would be a great help. If you see a problem developing, please let me know and we will try to deal with it together.
My Homewowrk Policy has changed this year. Last year I had too many students turning in homework VERY late which really is unfair to those who complete the required assignments on time. My policy right now is that homework is due the day I say it is due for full credit. I will accept it one day late for half credit but there will be no credit given after that. Part if this is to help them realize that they are responsible for doing certain things. Teaching responsibility is a major goal for us and I think this helps. Missing assignments can dramatically affect grades.
7th GRADE, US HISTORY
We are still in Book 1 and will have our second test on Tuesday, Sept 23. It will cover chapters 21-24. Parents please still try to monitor their notes and see how they look.
8th GRADE US HISTORY
We are in Book 5 also and making good progress there. Information on the citrus fruit sale went home with the 8th graders. This is not mandatory but will help defray the cost of the trip for the students. If you have any questions please call me at school or email me. The trip is set up for Nov 13-14. More information on the trip will be forthcoming. If you would like to chaperone, information on that will be coming home also.
