Homework and Research

- The American Library Association has gathered some of the best web sites for kids and organized them under this site, ALA's Great Websites for Kids
- B.J. Pinchbeck's site is especially colorful and fun. He is a seventeen year old who started collecting web sites to help with homework in 1996. Now there are over 700 links on his site: B.J. Pinchbeck's Homework Helper
- Info please help with homework allows you to search almanacs, encyclopedias, atlases, and dictionaries; you can also search by subject area, or go directly to their homework help area.
- The Homework Spot is divided by age groups--elementary, middle school, or high school.
- Kids Click is a site developed especially for kids who are doing research. It was started by a group of librarians who wanted to find kid-friendly web sites.
- If you have to find information on the states of the United States, try this website for information on all the fifty states.
For research, nothing can beat the Pennsylvania Power Library Resources. From this page you can get full text magazine articles (e-mailed straight to your computer!); encyclopedia articles; and an incredible amount of information for research. For this site, you need to have a library card from a public library (they're free). To find the library nearest you, (and its hours) check the Allegheny County Library Web Site.
